Embracing my beasts as I am just passing through

“My beasts have strength. They arrive like a wave and take hold of my mind and body, transforming them. When a beast arrives, I am that character for a while, until another beast comes to displace it. I imagine myself as a great skin covering with a zipper that opens and closes to receive the emotion of the moment. It’s different if it opens from the top of my head down to my feet than if it opens from my feet up to my head. Any creation of a character is an allegory or a metamorphosis. And if it’s a matter of metamorphosis, we live it day by day. No one can be something they are not.”- Luz Lizarazo

This exhibition invites us to immerse ourselves, through the artist’s gaze, in those emotions and psychological states that all human beings go through over the course of our lives. With this exhibition, the artist continues to feed her interest in delving ever more deeply into those states that set us apart from others, that we move through, and that make us unique. Beyond any judgment or categorization as good or bad, it is an interest in the human condition and our experience in this universe.
