Carlos Alfonso is part of the group exhibition La luz, el fuego y la ceniza at the Medellín Museum of Modern Art.
Curated by Ana Ruiz Valencia, this exhibition approaches food through its spiritual, environmental-territorial, more-than-human, cultural, and political dimensions. Cross-cutting issues such as migration—both voluntary and forced—, rootedness or uprootedness in relation to territory, interspecies collaborations involved in food production, as well as the acts of eating and preparing food as part of political processes of resistance, activism, and collective sustenance, help weave together this exhibition, which understands that, through food, we create worlds.
On view starting March 26, 2026.
