¿Pintura, no pintura?

Casas Riegner is pleased to announce the opening of the group exhibition ¿Pintura, no pintura? You can visit it during our regular hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In it, the voices of emerging, mid-career and long-time artists converge around two fundamental questions: How are contemporary artists approaching the pictorial medium, and what is the meaning of the act of painting in today's world?

Far from presenting an exhibition of painting that responds to a traditional definition of the medium, ¿Pintura, no pintura? will display works that, in their discourse, construction and materiality, push the medium to its limits, giving it a renewed and expanded meaning.

The participating pieces, created in a diversity of media such as video, installation, drawing and weaving, dialogue around the expansion of painting, question the pictorial medium, explore its malleability and hybrid character in order to understand its state today.

The artists participating in this exhibition will be Danilo Dueñas, Carlos Rojas, Bernardo Ortiz, Luis Roldán, Rosemberg Sandoval, Alejandro Salcedo and Tikal Smildiger, Cristina Umaña Durán, Siu Vásquez, Luz Lizarazo, León Trujillo, Verónica Lehner.
