'LABRIEGO', Rosemberg Sandoval

Casas Riegner is proud to announce the first exhibition of artist Rosemberg Sandoval in Poland. 'LABRIEGO', curated by Anna Ròg, at the Centre for Contemporary Art Laznia in Gdansk.

Rosemberg's body of work has become the voice of those who have been historically marginalized, disappeared and massacred. Social inequality, violence, forced displacement, extractivism and the illegal exploitation of territory are some of the themes covered in this exhibition.

LABRIEGO' presents a selection of works that question and highlight the problems directly related to land management in Colombia. Given the current situation, the artist recreates "Puñado De Tierra" with a handful of land from Ukraine in a symbolic way, alluding to the violence and displacement that, at this moment, overlap in the realities of Colombia and Ukraine.

Rosemberg Sandoval, accompanied by his wife Paola Andrea Tafur and son Tomas Sandoval Tafur, presented "EU-ROPA" during the opening night at 7:00 PM (GMT +2). After the live performance, there was a meeting with the artist in which there was also a commented presentation of 'Political Actions', an archive that gathers the documentation of 22 performances and that will be a permanent part of the exhibition. Additionally, during the opening night, the performances Mugre, Rose-Rose and Eu-ropa were screened.
