For Art 42 Basel, the second edition of Art Parcours transforms many unique locations throughout the historic St. Alban neighborhood, offering site-specific artworks and performances by renowned artists and emerging talents. The high caliber pieces – selected by Jens Hoffmann, Director of the CCA Wattis Institute, San Francisco – engage with today’s Basel and with its long history, weaving artistic interventions into the city.
The Art Parcours Night on Thursday, June 16, brings West Coast spirit to the Rhine. Artist Chris Johanson performs with his band ‘Sun Foot‘, atop an artwork in the form of a stage built on a cargo barge, starting at 9pm with a projection by Johanna Jackson & DJ set by Christopher Garrett. Further performances and extended opening hours for all of Art Parcours, plus food and drinks, round out this unique summer evening. The night continues with DJs and bands at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, a special event for its Henrik Olesen solo exhibition.
